Application

Coarse paraffin wax, due to its high oil content, is mainly used in the production of matches, fiberboard, canvas, etc. When polyolefin additives are added to paraffin wax, its melting point increases, and its adhesion and flexibility improve, making it widely used in moisture-proof and waterproof packaging paper, paperboard, surface coatings of certain textiles, and candle production.

After paper is immersed in paraffin wax, various wax papers with good waterproof performance can be produced, which can be used in the packaging of food, medicine, etc., for metal rust prevention, and in the printing industry. When paraffin wax is added to cotton yarn, it can make textiles soft, smooth, and elastic. Paraffin wax can also be used to produce detergents, emulsifiers, dispersants, plasticizers, lubricating greases, etc.

Fully refined paraffin wax and semi-refined paraffin wax have a wide range of uses. They are mainly used as components and packaging materials for food, oral medicines, and certain products (such as wax paper, crayons, candles, carbon paper), as coating materials for baking containers, for fruit preservation, as insulating materials for electrical components, to improve the anti-aging properties and flexibility of rubber, etc. They can also be oxidized to produce synthetic fatty acids.
